In his audience with the head of State, commander in chief of Cameroon’s armed forces Paul Biya, the Russian Ambassador to Cameroon expressed his government’s appreciation for the manner in which President Paul Biya has been managing the Anglophone Crisis in Cameroon, TeboPost has learned.
Ambassador Nicolay Ratsiborisnsky used his June 5th audience with the president of the republic to express his country’s position vis sa vis the ongoing crisis and he describes the measures taken by the head of state as ‘bold and daring” to the press.
A statement on the website of the presidency says that the diplomat describe measures taken as wise and comprehensive “He said Russia is satisfied with the comprehensive, wise, human and flexible “measures taken by Cameroonian authorities to settle the demands of Anglophone lawyers and teachers.”
The diplomat of the Russian federation also told reporters that, both men also discussed economy and security between Russia federation and Cameroon especially maritime security in the gulf of Guinea and fight against piracy.
Russia was one of the first countries to pledge military support to Cameroon to fight Boko Haram terrorist sect in the north of the country and have been helpful in providing aid to the government to tackle the menace. Russian is also one of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council with a veto power
