An attacker rammed a vehicle filled with explosives into the main entrance of a port in Mogadishu, the nation’s largest city and capital.

Death toll from the explosion is expected to rise as some of those injured remain in critical state, Dr Isse Mahmoud, who worked at nearby hospital told CNN. Al Shabaab, a Somalia-based militant group with ties to al Qaeda, has claimed responsibility for killing 30 police officers, according to Radio Andalus, the group’s affiliated station

According deputy county commissioner Isaac Masinde on Sunday morning,the death toll of the explosion have risen to 40 after fuel tanker explosion near Karai in central Kenya on Saturday night after the truck hit several vehicles before exploding on a busy highway.The police indicate that the truck driver lost control of the vehicle on the busy Nairobi-Naivasha Highway, 80 kilometres west of the capital Nairobi, and then hit the vehicles infront of it before exploding together with 12 other vehicles. Egypt: bomb blast at Cairo Coptic cathedral kills at least 25 people

Egyptiian state media is reporying tht a bomb last at the Coptic cathedral has killed 25 people. was one of the deadliest against the country’s Christian minority in recent memory.
Another 35 people were injured, Egyptian state TV reported, when the bomb exploded in a chapel close to the outer wall of St Mark’s Cathedral, the seat of Egypt’s Orthodox Christian church and home to the office of its spiritual leader, Pope Tawadros I. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Sunday’s attack.
