Star studded Super eagle’s welcomes roaring Africa champions in a clash of continents heavyweights

On Friday 1st September 2017, the continent will  focused on Oyo-Nigeria as super eagles welcome the indomitable lions of Cameroon in a clash of old football rivals and giants of African football

Cameroon and Nigeria will be battling for lone tickets to be amongst the 5 teams to represent the continent in Russia 2018 world cup. The stakes of the match could not be higher with the head coach of the super eagles Gernot Rohr, summoning some of the finest breeds of Nigerian football talents abroad to face the reigning African champions

With names like Victor Moses, Michael Obi, Igalo, kelechi and many more sending shock waves down the spines of many Cameroonian football lovers as they plight their trade in some of the best clubs in Europe, the indomitable lions will be wary of any complacency as they face the 2013 African Champions in their own terrain

Previous records of the two shows Nigeria has an advantaged although Cameroon has always beaten their giant neighbor in the important matches, taking three of their 5 AFCONS in the hands of the super Eagles.

Cameroon’s forward and player of the 2017 AFCON tournament Christian Bassagog was emphatic when he told FIFA website that the team ‘must win” if they are to keep their hopes alive. But beating Nigeria in Oyo will be no easy task and even the African champions are aware of the challenge

“They have very good players and many of them are playing in Europe. But we must defeat them if we are to maintain our qualifying hopes.

“We should take the game to them. We need to fight to defeat them.”

The head coach of the lions have gone with basically the same squad he triumphed the continent with in the just ended tournament in February 2017 with the additions of few names like Stoke City’s Choupo Mouting to further strengthen the no firing attack line

Cameroon goes into the clash as slight favorites and after having taking part in the 2017 confederations cup in Russia where they were eliminated in the group stage but experts say their performance in Russia will help the lions as they will be hungry to be there for the biggest football competition in 2018 as reigning African kings.
