Its official: Eto’o finally handed over fully equiped pediatric pavillon he built.
Cameroon’s emblematic footballer and UNICEF goodwill ambassador Samuel Eto’o fils has officially handed over the Samuel Eto’o Pavilion he built to the Langatuine hospital in Douala. The handing over ceremony of the fully equipped centre estimated to cost hundreds of millions of francs CFA took place on may 8thin the presence of the Government delegate to the Douala City Council.
The visibly satisfied authorities of the littoral, thank the multimillionaire super star for his continuous good will especially to help children in his home land.
In 2011,the Indomitable antalyaspor striker and multimillionaire was at his mother’s village Ngambe , some 100 km from the nation’s economic capital Douala, where he offered a cheque of 200000 Usd for the construction of a hospital for the local people. The four-time African Player of the Year also pledged to give an additional 1 million Usd if the project to be completed within six month.
In 2007,The Cameroon international Samuel Eto’o also offered two fully equipped ambulances to the country which lacks hospital transportation.
In past years, Eto’o has offered scholarships to deserving university students; offered motorcycles to youths for commercial use, and made other donations to the Douala Central Prison
Eto’o was also made honorary citizen of the city of Douala for his numerous humanitarian works
