Cameroon Lionesses sail through to semis


The indomitable lionesses of Cameroon have qualified for the semi-finals of the 10th edition of the African women Nations cup hosted in Cameroon. The lionesses assured their place in the last four of the 8 team competition with a narrow 1:0 win over the Banyana Banyana of south Africa.

Despite the Lionesses dominance all through  the game, they were no real clear chances for goals as the South African girls had a  rock solid defence, but the lionesses continue to mount pressure and the massive support from the home  fans, they had a breakthrough at the 83rd minutes of the game the when home-base player Ngo Mbeleck  had to score beautiful volley  from a rebound to give the lionesses a lead with just 7 more minutes to play. The match ended with a narrow one-nil victory while Zimbabwe and Egypt later played to a virgin tie. Cameroon tops the group with six points , Zimbabwe with two points while Egypt and South Africa have a point each with one more game to play.
